Not Quite Happiness

9 Mar

You search for happiness in places
it can not be found.
In the jealousy of your enemies.
In the smile of a pretty face
looking back at you.
In stolen glances of a lover
you will never be.
In the sorrow of
an honest heart.
Is this happiness?
Not quite.
Taking pleasure
in other people’s pain.
Never once realizing
that these alone
are the reasons
you will never find
what you are looking for.

Thank you! The poem is mine, the picture is not. I am not sure who or where the picture came from, actually. Thanks for reading. xo

Happiness cannot be found in anything outside, it MUST come from within, and, you have a TON of insights here
