Paint My World In The Chaos of Darkness

25 Mar

Cities are full of empty people
disguised as porcelain dolls
with picket fence lives,
hiding monsters in their closets,
rushing through busy streets
to places
they don’t want to be.
Small towns are full of heartsick people
trapped by the anchor of first love,
terrified of letting go,
terrified of holding on,
hiding monsters
in tiny wooden boxes
called “the past.”
Go find the place
where darkness
is more beautiful than light,
truth less painful than lies,
madness more lusted after than sanity,
where people run wild
with delirious passion
and monsters are beautiful.
I’ll meet you there.
