The Song That Destroys The Book That Saves

10 Sep

He used to always take her hand and say, “don’t you know that songs are written about girls like you?”

She never did understand

the awe, in his kind voice upon uttering those words.

He was the man in every book

she ever

loved.

He was everything, in everything,

and all the world longed

to know him.

And she thought, this meant

so much more

than her; a short lived melody.

To be

the song that nourishes

then destroys, or

the book that

saves you.

She did not know,

which she wanted

to be, and

which she wanted

to love.

Sometimes, you just get too caught up in the moment that love came to you, that you FAILED to THINK at least THREE times, before you take the leap into love, and you’d end up getting hurt bad…
