The Brightest Light

27 Jan

They always called her

the brightest light. She didn’t just brighten up

a room; she illuminated lives, worlds even.

She had an ease about her that made people whisper

all their secrets in her ear. She made people feel like

feathers: light, fearlessly falling and free.

“You are the brightest light,” they would say

failing to notice that

she also carried

the darkest shadow.

That’s the thing with people who help shoulder burdens, others would pour their hearts out to them, without realizing, that they had their own issues, and yet, those with the burdens just have to carry it. Very well stated here.
