The Part Outgrown

She didn’t mean to be
a tangled web of contradictions. In fact, she fought

with every ounce of her being against her own complexity.

It wasn’t all she was.

It wasn’t even the biggest part of her,
but it was still a part.

And in a world where people want to mold you;
that part of her

was quickly outgrown.
